Our Women in Hip-Hop program is a dynamic, interactive experience that explores the history, impact, and future of women in hip-hop culture. Through education, discussion, and artistic practice, we empower participants—especially young girls—to challenge sexism, celebrate female contributions, and take an active role in hip-hop’s evolving legacy.

Co-FounderLiL MC is an Oakland-based emcee, educator, and advocate for women in hip-hop. With a passion for storytelling through rap, she has dedicated her career to breaking barriers in the male-dominated hip-hop industry. She brings years of experience in music production, songwriting, and live performance, creating an engaging and inspiring learning environment for students.

Our week-long class takeovers provide an in-depth exploration of hip-hop through a feminist lens. Over the course of five days, students will engage in discussions, hands-on creative projects, and interactive activities that empower them to express their own voices. Each day focuses on a different element of hip-hop—MCing, DJing, Breaking, Graffiti, and Knowledge—culminating in a final showcase where students share their creations.✔ Daily deep dives into hip-hop’s artistic elements
